Channel 8 weekend and Pleasure Beach

Moose and I headed to Blackpool UK to start our Bingham Cup 2008 trip to Dublin, Ireland. For those of you who do not know, Blackpool is a former victorian resort that is very similar to Wildwood or Santa Cruz, with a very long boardwalk (although here its The Promenade) and lots of shoppes and touristy stuff....and of course, The Big One....no, not that, but a roller coaster, The Pepsi Max, the tallest in Europe.

Moose and I enjoyed all the nostalgic rides of the Pleasure Beach, even the crazy mouse that appears to throw you right off the ride!

We enjoed the local pubs, and then took in Funny Girls on Sunday night. Funny Girls...hmmm, what to say....take British humor, and add the american musical, then toss in some very elaborate drag, and our host, DJ Zoe, and voila, a fantastic night of old fashioned cabaret! A true gem we found in Blackpool!

Our hosts Dean and Craig, at the Windor House, took excellent care of our voluminous luggage (why do we always overpack?) Anyway, they were perfect hosts with wonderful English breakfast and some tea as we blogged....so nice!

We will be off to Dublin soon and will check in when we land.

Shoppers alert....the rugby kit in Blackpool is mucho cheapo!

pps...they need a burrito stand here! Los Gringos serves pizza and chips...lol!
